3 for the Afternoon!

Thanks to readers who have alerted to two more "commits" so far today.

First we have yet another promising kicker. Luke Eddy, from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts.

Eddy was ranked the #2 kicker in the Northeastern region by the Ray Guy Kicking Academy.

(Also signing on to play college ball from Worcester Academy was Charles Argast, son of our OL coach Ed Argast. Charles will play at Bryant next year and we wish him the best of luck!)

Joe Ghergurovich

Next we have Joe Ghergurovich a 6-3 245 pound OL from Glastonbury High School. He was a New Haven Register 1st Team OL in 2008 and 2009.

Maurice Rothschild

Third, we have yet ANOTHER player coming from Lousiana. This time, from the Big Easy itself. Maurice Rothschild is a cornerback with a lot of different heights and weights depending on which web sit you consult. I've seen him as big as 6-0 and 180 pounds, and as small as 5-8 and 150 pounds.

Rothschild's youtube highlights have him at WR. He looks fast and does not look small. He thinks -- according to the local paper -- that he can make an immediate impact.

Re Rothschild: all district as Junior WR; had 10 ints, but I couldn't tell if during season or in career; perhaps most interesting, at a NIKE event attended by 200 players from 5 area states, R had the fastest 40 time at 4.50.

Jake, it looksa as if we are recruiting smaller OLs this year, guys in the 240 range, as opposed to some of the big guys we had recruited the last few years.

On Prokicker.com website Luke Eddy was listed as the #2 kicker on the website with the Northeast All Time records for best distance and hangtime. He held the All time best hang time national record until last month that was broken by .01 of a second. Additionally, he was the #5 ranked punter in the NE with the All Time NE record for punt hang time! According to Rick Sang of prokicker.com this charting was before Luke Eddy had ever played a football game since he converted to football his senior year from the powerhouse Worcester Academy soccer program where he played center mid. Luke has the potential to improve dramatically as we saw over his senior season and has one of the strongest legs in the nation. That is something we can't coach where he saw his kickoffs travel consistently 65 to 75 yards. His size at a genuine 6'2" and 200 lbs on a large frame is very impressive for a kicker.
