James Valerias
The Washington Post reports that All-Metro Honorable Mention WR James Valerias from Gonzaga College High School has committed to Columbia.
Valerias split his time as a receiver and a punt returner and is listed as 6-1 and 185 pounds.
More from Tyler
Another incoming frosh, kicker Tyler Feely, has a few more words about his football career in today's Tampa-area papers. Here's some exciting news for Columbia fans: Tyler says he recently beat his older brother, NY Jets kicker Jay Feely, in a punting contest. I guess they had that contest at Lukoil Stadium, (I just zinged myself, since I'm a Jets season ticket holder!)
Ouch.
Hey folks, it's "National Signing Day" so stay tuned for more commitment updates throughout the day.

Jake, the youtube of Sam Williams, the incoming tailback from Tennessee, is incredible. He makes everybody else on hte field look like they are wearing combat boots. Any idea of his 40 times?
Thanks for citing the youtube of Sam Williams. He's one fast dude. More than that, he seems equally comfortable running inside or outside. I can't wait to see him take the field for the Lions. Incidentally, there's a very nice write-up in today's Chattanooga Times Free Press on Williams.
...The Mountain Lion
Jake, did you notice that our first known recruit, Lou DiNovo, was selected as a second team Class AA All New York State wide receiver? We seem to have some really nice speed in the incoming class with guys like DiNovo, Andrada, Williams, McClain, Lowry and Mingo. And since we only know the names of 12 recruits, there are almost certain to be more to come.
Jake, the prestigious Chris Sailer Kicking School lists Duncan Dickerson of Cypress Falls High School in Houston, Texas, as having committed to Columbia as a snapper. Dickerson, a 6'2" 260 offensive lineman, is the 46th highest rated snapper. Having a quality long snapper is vital to a successful kicking game, so this seems to me to be a key commitment.
Jake, we have wrapped up our recruiting. I understand we did very well. But no official word can go out, so it will take some sleuthing to get the remaining 15 or 20 names.
