Putting a face on Mr. Coleman

Hunter Coleman

I now have some pics and video for Columbia commit Hunter Coleman, who I first wrote about earlier this week.

It's unbelievable to me that Coleman is the first person from his school to come play football at an Ivy. But it's also encouraging, because that tells me there's a potential new fount for talent that we haven't tapped before.

Jake,

That's "fount" (for talent).

Don't know how much weight he could gain over the next couple of years, but he looks like he has great footwork for a tackle.

I had thought that we are going to convert him to a blocking TE.

Yes, he will be a TE, although he was also effective at DE. He was first-team All-District as an OT.

Yes, I saw that we were going to convert him to TE. My comment was intended to suggest that given his footwork on the video, it would be great to have him play tackle, although the weight issue may be insurmountable given that he now only weighs 224.

He's also not as tall as the tackles we've been recruiting recently. A really good blocking TE is valuable, and maybe he can catch, too!

6'4" is still tall enough for a tackle. Michael Oher, who would have been one of the first few players if the draft were held today, is 6'4".
