Jake: this site has an interesting photo of and article on the oldest extant football program, for the Columbia Yale game of 1872, including an account of the game in New Haven. It was the seventh college football game and Yale's first. The game was to be played until one team scored five goals. The game ended with darkness with Yale leading 3-0.
