One More Week...
Vinny Esposito leads the Albany Great Danes to Fordham tonight
As the Lions lick ther wounds from what seems like a nigtmare scrimmage in Boston yesterday, we can all comfort ourselves in the fact that this is our last non-football Saturday for a long while.
For Columbia's non-Ivy opponents, this is week 2. As some of you have already noted, Fordham's Jonte Coven is indeed listed as the starter for tonight's home game against Albany. I'm not sure why the Albany notes listed him as the #2.
Lafayette has its Patriot League opener against perennial doormat Georgetown in D.C. today. But Georgetown looks much improved this season.
Marist is going all the way to San Diego to take on the now Jim Harbaugh-less Toreros.
Fun on the Road
One needn't be at home to enjoy a good tailgate. For years, the Columbia Alumni Association has organized excellent tailgate events at some of the road Ivy venues. Here's the latest info on the tailgate for the Princeton game.
Another Name on the Recruit Wish List
There's a kid in Scarsdale who looks like a good defensive tackle. He's getting big-time attention from Columbia and some others.
GOOD LUCK RICK!!
My esteemed predecessor in the color commentator's chair, Rick Mantz, returns to the sidelines today as the new head coach of South Brunswick High School football. Here's a preview of their season.

Jake,
You keep telling us that Jonte Coven gained 189 yards against RI, but the Fordham website says it was 119...still pretty good but a bit of a difference, yes?
Yes, I must have seen a misprint at some point. It was just 119 yards.
