We're in the running to snag this good offensive lineman prospect from upstate New York. Read about Brian Murray here: Ithaca Journal

How do you get all of this information?

I think I've actually sourced all my info with links to newspaper or web articles. I did get 1-2 anonymous tips from the comments sections. No "deep throat" here.

Nice size for a freshman, if he plays on the basketball team then he probably has feet as well as wingspan, a real plus for the our O style. Any word on the skill guys? have any receivers or backs committed as yet?

Although this isn't responsive to your last blog, I have to confess being totally bummed about two heartbreaking losses in a row to Cornell. While no basketball loss can compare to a football loss in its impact, and conversely no basketball win can compare to a football win (I'm only talking about Ivy contests here), I still feel a sense that we are a day late and a dollar short. Unlike the miracle job on the field last fall, when we were shorthanded on talent and depth, our basketball talent is second only to Penn's. Yet we just don't seem to be able to take over the last few minutes of a game against a less talented foe. We are switching line-ups and we don't seem to be getting quality minutes from our junior class, which has played together for three years now. Any insights? Perhaps being blown out by Penn did us more harm than I had thought.

I agree about the Cornell BBall losses. Two games we could have won, were blown in the final moments. This is a very critical time for Joe Jones and his staff to prove they are worth keeping around. I assume he has another year at least before anyone talks of letting him go, but the Lions need to regroup and put at least 6 Ivy wins on the board to get ready for next year.

Thanks Jake. Joe needs to put together a couple of nice wins. The talent level should give this team 8 to 10 Ivy wins. Penn coach Miller said something disparaging about Columbia having a history of fading in close games. Not so against Princeton, but we shot the lights out that night. Too many dumb fouls, errant passes, failure to block out, etc. Overheard one player's parent say the kids are all afraid to shoot because they get yanked for misisng shots.
