Those results are laughable. We are much, much better than tied for 6th.
Ivy League media polls have always meant very little. I suspect that the current "media" are mostly local sportswriters from New England and Philly who have limited knowledge of Columbia Football. Am I right, Jake? Do you know who composed the "media" for today's poll.
I don't think the media guys voting in the poll were ignorant about Columbia. What I think is at play is that they will never give the Lions the benefit of the doubt. Until they see consistent wins coming out of the program, they won't pick the Lions ahead of other squads that seem weaker on paper... unless like Dartmouth, they appear A LOT weaker. I like to look at the stats and facts a little more before I start giving too much weight to a program's history or "culture."
