Linebacker from Down the Shore
Dan Kerrigan
Standout linebacker Dan Kerrigan from Manasquan High School in the Jersey Shore area is coming to Columbia according to his high school coach.
Kerrigan led the defense and made several key plays in Manasquan's championship game victory in early December.
Take a look at this interview with Kerrigan and tell me he doesn't remind you a bit of graduating linebacker Drew Quinn. If he's even close to being as good as Quinn has been for the Lions, we'll be lucky.

Kerrigan was 1st team Group II (Group I is smallest schools, Group IV largest) all state and first team all county (all Groups).

My pal Dr. V beat me to it, so let me only add that Kerrigan was also First Team All-Shore (Asbury Park Press - Monmouth and Ocean County) - which is impressive in itself - and here is the All-Shore bio:
DAN KERRIGAN
School: Manasquan
Year: Senior
Position: Linebacker
Highlights: Kerrigan was the leader of the defense on the Warriors' run to the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II championship, the school's Shore Conference-record 11th sectional championship. Kerrigan was in on 119 total tackles, 81 of which were solo and 13 of which were for a loss. He had one sack, one interception and forced three fumbles.
This makes at least three Jersey All-Staters headed to Morningside Heights in the fall (Kerrigan, Gerst and Deveau).
Overall impression is that this group seems larger in terms of body size than previous recruiting classes as a whole. Now if there's some speed and footwork included, as seems to be the case with some of the excellent promo videos Jake has highlighted, then we have alot to look forward to from the class of 2013 !!
