QB Recruit?

The Boston Globe is reporting that Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School QB Ray Doucette is getting recruiting interest from Columbia, Harvard, Temple, and UMass.

The full story is here.

And the Boston Herald has a piece on talented linebacker Josh Boyd from Catholic Memorial High School. Columbia is one of the schools on his radar as well.

Jack will not be missed. I still remember the '06 game. My only regret is that we will not have a chance to pay him back. My guess is that they will hire Willingham. You heard it here first.

Doucette is a very good passer and a good fit for the Columbia's offense. However, he obviously needs to put on some weight as Scout says he's 6'4" 175. What's the status of the other Boston area recruit from Brown & Nichols?

Not so fast. I think Charlie Weis might be available soon. He probably wants to make his way back to the East.

I looked him up and found a web site with game film. This is it: http://hootens.com/default.aspx. Unless my bifocals are completely twisted, I count 9 players per team, which may account for the huge scores in that league. Pretty neat idea as the ball used in this league is oblong instead of round, and there are no bats. It is an odd thing to watch. They sure do take the football seriously out there though.
