Gutty road win for mens' BB on the road at Cornell, 70 to 66. Tremendous game by Barbour. Terrible offensive night by Agho.

We have won nine of the last eleven mens bb games by five points or less. Coach Smith knows how to press the right buttons.

Columbia keeps improving from game to game. Brian Barbour was amazing. Ampim, Cisco and Daniels played solid defense in the second half. Agho is the super glue that keeps the team together.

Add to the equation, freshman guard Meiko Lyles from Tennessee, who scored ten points in only his second college game. Lyles looks like a very good player. Also add in that Associate Head Coach Hartman is doing a great job developing Columbia's big men. Every game a different big stands up. Against Cornell last weekend it was Mark Cisco. Last night it was Asenso Ampim and John Daniels. Smith has a nice deep bench filled with confident role players. That's going to help the Lions when the back-to back Ivy games start next weekend.

Coach smith's quote of the day describing Barbour was "cojones".

I must say I am impressed at HOW the men's BB team keeps winning. Different guys step up on a given night. The team responds to the mini-runs of the opponents and pulls things out. Much better than a few 20 point wins and a few 20 point losses, in my view

Also good to see that when the opponent succeeds in shutting down Agho, they get stung by someone else who steps up...that's hard to prepare for when we have that kind of depth.

Promising team for this season but especially next year as everyone matures into Smith's system

Pugliese needs to pump up his guns before he reports to camp if he wants to make an immediate impact.
