ANOTHER one from Arizona

Coltan Bishop, #23, helps on a tackle

5-10 180 lb. Free Safety Coltan Bishop has become the third Arizona high school player to commit to Columbia’s class of 2015.

It appears Bishop will be the first Chaparral HS grad to join the Lions.

Bishop was a standout player on Chaparral’s 5A-II Conference state championship team in the fall. He made a big impact in the championship game with a sack and an interception on back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter.

Bishop’s highlight reel is here.

Not very big for D-1, but appears fast and gets to the ball well. Appears the 4.55 forty is for real.

Greetings from Scottsdale, AZ. This is a great signing for the Lions. Chaparral High School is recognized as one of the premier academic and football programs in Arizona and has produced many quality student-athletes over the years (Ike Davis of the Mets is a proud alum). Colton is a proven winner who will bring great energy to the Lions!

Watched the tape. He is small, but he gets to the ball and makes hard hits and clean tackles. And he's smart!

Bab Sanders is 5'8"; as is Jim Leonhard. Troy Polamalu is 5'10". All three hit like freight trains.
