Teleconference Highlights

There weren't that many huge highlights to report from today's Ivy coaches teleconference, but we did get some solid info.

Below each coaches name I have some of their key bullet points.

Phil Estes, Brown:

Kyle Newhall Caballero is the starter at QB, (no surprise). He can run and pass. Zach Tronti and Sprio Theodosi will split the time at tailback and we are excited about their talent.

We'll be adding more running plays, but basically keeping our game the same.

Norries Wilson, Columbia:

Hard to tell about Fordham. No film to study, just stats.

Got to keep Skelton off the field. They also have a great tailback some good wide outs. TE isn't bad either. We have to establish a run game. Running is going to be our strength. We need to get positive yards on 1st downs. No penalties either.

Jim Knowles, Cornell

Confidence in Ben Ganter, he's the starting QB Saturday.

Buddy Teevens, Dartmouth

Alex Jenny will be the starter at QB.

Colgate always has a runner, so even though the #1 guy is out, we'll have to prepare for a good running game. Colgate's top WR Pat Simmons will stretch you.

Tim Murphy, Harvard

Collier Winters is the starter at QB. He will have more opportunities to run, but we're still a "pass first, run second" team.

Al Bagnoli, Penn

Villanova is so tough, but we'll get something positive out of it win or lose.

Keiffer Garton is the man, and it was a pleasure to run training camp knowing he was the #1 QB. The team rallies around him.

Roger Hughes, Princeton

Have to rely on the ground game. QB can't possibly be ready. Tommy Warren is the starter. He has steadily improved since the spring.

Tom Williams, Yale

QB is going to be Patrick Witt, but Brook Hart will definitely get a chance to play against Georgetown.

RB position is deep, but Jordan Farrell came back lighter and he's the top runner right now.

I just read a post on the fans Fordham Football website that Fordham's star center and captain, Robbie Reis, will miss the rest of the 2009 season due to a foot injury.
