Honors for Nico

Nice job Nico! (CREDIT: Columbia Athletics/Gene Boyars)

Nico's Gutierrez's breakout performance in the Dartmouth game has earned him Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors. It's much deserved, and he will probably want to do even better this Saturday as the Lions take on Yale, that little college not far from his hometown of New Canaan.

Still no word on Austin Knowlin's health after he limped off the field at the end of the Dartmouth game.

Having Nico and Austin on the field at the same time is going to give a lot of defensive coordinators fits over the next few years.

Nico had a good game. Keep it up. Speed and ability makes the D-I schools think about not givin' him a fair shake as a HS senior. Doesn't really matter because he get 10 times the education and opportunity coming from Columbia.

I saw a note on the Ivy League blog at Austin Knowlin had an injury. Anyone have insight on this?

Poster from 5:49 PM PDT --get off our board! Racist garbage like this has no place on Jake's blog. Foehi, if it's you, get lost.

The "Nico had a good game" comment on 10/22/07 was mine. My typos (get/gets)are more a matter of failing to proof read before submitting rather than a lack of education (I am a post grad x2). The following poster took a huge leap in logic to assume that this poster is uneducated. The comment following mine was neither humorous nor appropriate for Jake's site. Leave it on some other board.
